Four traits, one palette

  • Warmth

    How golden or rosy your skin and hair read.

    Warmth: neutral-toned for this example.

  • Depth

    How light or deep your coloring is, mostly from your hair, then your skin and eyes.

  • Clarity

    How saturated or muted your skin, hair and eye colors are on average.

    The lightness gap between the lightest and darkest of your skin, hair and eyes.

How your palette is built

  1. 01Regions sampled

    The model sorts every pixel into one of 19 classes. We take the main color of your skin and your hair, and the color of your irises without the whites or the pupils.

  2. 02Four traits

    Those three colors place you on warmth, depth, clarity and contrast, each a position between two ends.

  3. 03The palette

    12 wear colors: one for each of 11 hue families, set to your traits, plus one from your eye color. Then 6 neutrals tinted from your hair to your skin.

Why is it called a personal season?

Classic color analysis sorts everyone into one of 12 seasonal types. Personal Season keeps the idea and drops the boxes: it places you on four traits (warmth, depth, clarity and contrast) and builds a palette from your own skin, hair and eye colors.

How does it work?

Upload one selfie. In about 30 seconds we find your skin, eyes and hair, measure their color and place you on the four traits. Then 3-6 side-by-side comparisons let your own eye tune the palette, which takes a few minutes more.

What makes a good photo?

Face a window in daylight, with filters and beauty mode off and your hair off your face. If the light or framing would skew your colors, we tell you why and ask for a retake.

What's free, and what's in the full report?

The free preview shows your color traits, 3 best colors shown on your photo, one near-miss comparison and one outfit idea. The full report, $1.99 one time, adds your complete palette with neutrals, accents and colors to skip, 6 better vs near-miss comparisons on your photo, makeup shades, hair color and jewelry metals, a full set of outfits, a printable PDF and a phone wallpaper.

Do I need an account?

No. After you pay, your report has a permanent link, and we email it to you. If you lose it, we can send it again.

Is it accurate?

It's a well-informed starting point, not a verdict. Light and phone cameras affect any reading made from a photo, which is why the side-by-side comparisons let your own eye refine the result.
